An Interview with Military Veteran and Renewable Energy Leader: Mike Blaha


“One thing that the military did teach me was the technical side of completing jobs, so once I got into the electrical industry, it was natural to want to specialize in this. Renewable energy was what interested me the most.”

Meet Mike J Blaha, who on November 1st, 2021, was interviewed by Jessie Hunt from Powering New Mexico. Mike, a New Mexico resident of 33 years is the Director of Operations at OE Solar, an innovative solar EPC based in downtown Albuquerque. Powering New Mexico was interested in learning how Blaha’s military experience correlates and benefits with his current occupation in the energy sector.

Blaha responds “Renewable energy is moving forward very quickly. Now is the time to embrace this and make the world a better place for generations to come.”

Mike served in the United States Air Force for 6 years and developed many valuable and transferrable skills in leadership and management as a Senior Airman. Today, Mike is a proud father of 3 and Director of Operations at a top 100 EPC in the US, OE Solar. Mike promotes innovation as a staple in benefitting our future generations. His goal is to not only live by the OE Solar motto; helping New Mexicans live green, he wants to help the entire Southwest region in adopting sustainable energy by spreading solar awareness and sharing his technical expertise.
