OE Solar; SANTA ANA GOLF CLUB – NEW MEXICO’S FIRST SOLAR POWERED GOLF COURSE

Santa Ana Golf Club Solar Carport

Osceola Energy has teamed up with Santa Ana Golf Club to build a state-of-the-art 250 kW/h DC solar carport capable of generating enough electricity to power 95% of Santa Ana Golf Club’s facilities. This carport would eliminate approximately 95% of their utility electrical power and reduce over 197,000,000 pounds of carbon equivalent annually. They will be the first golf course in New Mexico to run almost entirely on clean solar energy. Installation Notes Project: Santa Ana Golf Club Location: Bernalillo, New Mexico Carport manufacturer: CBC Steel Buildings Modules: Canadian Solar Max Power CS6X 310W No. of modules: 840 Inverters: SMA Sunny Tripower 15000TL-US, 24000TL-US No. of inverters: (5) 15000TL-US; (6) 24000TL-US System capacity: 250 kW (DC) Osceola designed the project so that it would fit naturally with the regional style of the Southwest as well as the Golf Club. Steel corbels where incorporated to keep the southwest feel. The structure was also painted to match the surrounding building. Hand blown glass emblems from a local Santa Fe Artist adorn the structure and illuminate the golf clubs logo at night. ‘Our fundamental belief is that renewable energy systems should be both functional and aesthetically pleasing,’ says Christopher Fortson, marketing director at Osceola Energy. ‘All too often we hear that ‘solar is ugly,’ and we stand to challenge that perception. Our motto is” solar so beautiful, you’ll want to show it off.’’ The project was commissioned in June 25th 2015. All facilities continued to run, uninterrupted, and additional parking areas have been designated for guests convenience.
